After much deliberation (and silence on the blog), I have decided to leave my teaching position at the end of the school year.
I have loved working at my school but I am ready for new challenges and new adventures.
My Fulbright experience helped me to see that I can make an impact on people outside of my classroom, that my knowledge and experience is of interest and use to people in other schools, organizations, and countries.
So… I have decided to take a leap. I’m currently in the process of opening a new consulting business, Silver Kite Community Arts Consulting, LLC. The company will focus on building community development and community engagement programs and trainings, using the arts as a tool for relationship building both inside and outside of institutions.
The company has a roster of 7 consultants, all fabulous women who are specialists in community arts in one fashion or another – working in dance, mask, arts therapy, intergenerational communication, etc. – and are experienced in developing work in all corners of the globe. I am thrilled to be working with them and to see what kind of an impact we can make on the world.
Please visit our website (which will be up by March 18): http://www.silverkiteconsulting.com to learn more about our work and follow our blog.
